Join us at JW3 this Yom HaZikaron (Israel’s Memorial Day), Sunday 30 April, for three events:
17:30 Screening of intimate documentary Rabin in His Own Words
Followed by a Q&A with Dr Yaron Peleg (Kennedy-Leigh Lecturer in Modern Hebrew Studies at the University of Cambridge and co-editor of Identities in Motion a book about contemporary Israeli cinema) and Professor Yossi Mekelberg (Associate Fellow, Middle East and North Africa Programme, Chatham House).
Based on rare archival materials, including off-the-record interviews, home videos, family photos and letters, Rabin in His Own Words offers a candid and intimate portrait of the late Prime Minister.
Chiefly narrated by Rabin himself, we are taken on a journey from his childhood, through his days as a farm worker, to a career in the army and, later on, as a diplomat and politician. This is a nuanced and detailed study of an influential statesman, whose life – and death – have come to define a nation.

Israeli and Palestinian bereaved families speak about their personal pain along with musical and artistic performances. Thousands of Israelis and Palestinians participate every year in this special event in Tel-Aviv led by Combatants for Peace and the Bereaved Families Forum.
You are invited to join us for a livestreaming of the Ceremony, followed by a discussion.
