Message from our Chief Executive, Adam Ognall

I would like to thank you for your support of New Israel Fund.

This year’s Human Rights Awards Dinner was the most successful we have held yet (see below). One particularly pleasing aspect  was the large numbers from our New Generation (young professionals) group that attended.

Record Year for NIF 2011 Human Rights Awards

300 people attended our 2011 Human Rights Award Event on 6th November.  This year’s Award went to Barbara Epstein the Director of Community Advocacy (CA) for her outstanding work in the area of social and economic justice. The Event also raised £140,000 for NIF’s grantees and projects in Israel, a record amount.

Campaigning against Bills to Limit Funding for Israeli Human Rights Groups

The Israeli government has decided to freeze or postpone considering the Bills that were intended to restrict funding to Israeli human rights and social justice groups. This followed a concerted campaign both within Israel and internationally.

Remembering Yitzhak Rabin as Intolerance and Violence Grow

More than 150 people packed into the Yitzhak Rabin synagogue in Rehovot to commemorate the 16th anniversary of the assassination of the Prime Minister.
