I had the pleasure earlier this month to speak at a meeting in the House of Commons on ‘Making the Progressive Case for Israel’. It was organised by Labour Friends of Israel and Progress and it attracted around 200 people including MPs and Lords, Labour party members and Jewish community leaders.

 

Oscar Stars Win Temporary Right to Stay in Israel

The stars of the film "Strangers No More," which won an Oscar last month for the best Short Documentary, can stay in Israel for now. Interior Minister Eli Yishai has ruled that the deportation of some 200 migrant children who are already in school, and whose parents are working in Israel without permits will be delayed until the summer.

Kiryat Shmona to offer affordable housing for students

As a result of a two year campaign by SHATIL and Tel Hai College to address the pressing socioeconomic challenges in Galilee, The Israel Land Authority and the mayor of Kiryat Shmona, Nissim Malcha have initiated a pilot program to secure affordable accommodation for students.
