NIF Online Petition Makes Media Headlines in Israel - October 2011

An online petition organised by NIF and signed by nearly 4,000 Jews worldwide in support of the Israeli social justice protests made major media headlines in Israel ahead of the largest of the mass social protest demonstrations. A full-page advert about the petition, including thousands of signatories, appeared in the Israeli edition of the International Herald Tribune.

In the hours leading up to the demonstration, the story of the petition – with a headline which screamed, "Thousands of Jews in the US Sign Petition Supporting Protest" – was the top story on the home page of Israel's popular "Walla" website.

The morning after the massive rallies, the petition and the support of Jews overseas was featured in many Israeli media outlets including the mass-circulation daily newspaper Yisrael Hayom and the Jerusalem Post.
