Court Orders Government to Reallocate $65 Million to Rehabilitating the Environment

Israel’s High Court of Justice has ordered the government to return $65 million to a fund, which was originally set up to rehabilitate landscapes scarred by quarries. The order followed a petition by NIF grantee Israel Union for Environmental Defense

Government Agrees to Pave Roads to Bedouin Schools

The Israeli government has agreed to allocate $18.7 million to pave roads to nine schools in the Negev, serving eight recognized and five unrecognized Bedouin villages. Three children have been killed on these roads on their way to school in recent years.

Tel Aviv Municipality Pledges Employment Rights to Cleaners

A senior Tel Aviv Municipality official has promised that all future tenders will contain clauses, which will ensure contractors are committed to pay employees and employees of subcontractors their full salary and entitlements.
